Jim Jim Falls...

This is one of the swimming holes we went to... Jim Jim Falls
(don't ask why they named it twice, its an aboriginal thing...)
We had to trek over the boulders and through the woods, and past the croc trap to get to this one... not too far, but it was a real challenge traversing this incredible terrain.

this is the path we took just to get there
over the boulders...
(if you look closely just to the right of the girl in the picture, there is an orange triangle... that's how they "mark" the suggested path to follow: this one was quite the path...)

through the woods...

past the croc traps...

note, the door is still up so they hadn't caught one... and don't really know it they got them all...

This is one of the many signs we passed...

and then our briefing...
(that's Nathan... he's very afraid of crocs... so I waited for him to go in the water first... he's 6'6" and kind of lanky - the Mark Daniel of Australia - so any croc would have had a fun time with him)

but you can judge if it was worth it...

YES!! we went in the water... and I made it across the pool to the rock wall, right up under the falls just about in the middle along the rocks (behind the falling water). It was incredibly cold so we didn't stay in too long, but it was amazing to have all that water tumbling down on me... it made me realize, yet again, how insignificant we are when it comes to challenging mother nature.
