African rush hour...

Another day on the road through Krueger...

Here are pics of the types of roads we were driving through the park. Some dirt and some paved, but all lined with the terrain where the animals live... and travel. Each day Tim & I would get out into the park and drive mile after mile in search of the animals. Most of the time we would just happen upon them along the road. Everywhere you look in any direction was open terrain of various types, and you never would know what you would see (if anything) or when you might find something new.

Sometimes the animals would take over the roads and we silly humans have to take a backseat to their wishes.

If it's not the Water Buffalo, it's the Elephants that make you late for work...

these two were part of an elephant heard of about 10-12 who basically surrounded our car and took over the road for a while. They didn't hang with us too long, they had trees to eat.

...or the occasional giraffe crossing...

Despite our best efforts and binoculars, most of the animals we saw were along the roads. The more roads you travel, the more you might see... and we traveled quite a bit. We drove about 6-8 hours a day along all types of roads.
