The "airport"...
After landing at the airport, straight out on safari...
elephants, zebras, ostriches, oh my...
Here is my "tent"...
Most importantly... a flush toilet...
And hot shower...
So you don't think you see a shower...?? Well, that bucket is it. When you are ready for a shower, you ask the staff to fill the bucket with hot water for you. Then they hoist it up and gravity does the rest... yes, there is a shower stall with a shower head inside. This is part of the Eco-friendly thing, because it reduces water consumption and energy to theta the water (it's solar). Yes, there is enough water to get clean, but it does take a little getting used to... and asking for permission to shower is a little strange. Ironically, these showers were hotter than the fancy schmancy hotel in Nairobi and the 5 star safari camp in the Mara. And after a long dusty day on safari, they were damned refreshing.
